This fan is still a bit noisy like normal fans but it is fantastic! It is robust and great quality. It gives of a lovely breeze. If you get hot in the summer than get this. You won’t regret it. I haven’t. I’m thinking about getting another one. The packaging is great too!

  2. MNMN

Im so glad i waited this to go down in price for 10 months! In the scorching summer heat this fan was around sixty pounds and i got it for twenty after waiting! i am so pleased with this fan. not only its small but its powerful. i would highly recommend this item and get it now before the prices escalate! i love the wishlist feature on Amazon as it notifies you of the discounts on your favourite items! here’s a pic on full speed!

Bought this fan before this summer’s heatwave and it has saved me from certain frazzlement at night… it is really quiet for a powerful fan and looks like a small jet engine. The power switch is a bit mad though, going in this order: off-3-2-1 but that’s only an issue for weirdos like me. A great fan to use in a bedroom at night or to power a small boat with a hamster on it, full-on ‘tales of the riverbank’ style.

All in all I love this fan….well worth the money and arrived on time. Comes in a neat little box and it’s already made which some fans are not, it’s strong and does the job it’s ment to do. Has three settings and you can also hang it on the wall if you so choose….. I added pictures of both the box and fan hopefully this helps

  5. Miss V. Shaw

So far so good, I love it. It’s quiet and surprisingly powerful for its size. **EDIT** A year on and it’s getting a little loud at times, but it’s still going, it wasn’t switched off at all for about 5 months as I have to have a fan on at all times for the background noise (due to tinnitus). So it is doing better than many brands. Highly recommend.

  6. Adrian

Nice looking and very powerful fan. I can’t say if it’s quiet or noisy because I can’t compare it with any other fan. I can sleep with it on without any problems. Also my baby started sleeping much better with the fan in the room. It’s cooler and gives white noise. Very happy with this product

  7. lorraine harland

A really reliable, solid product. Also robust, important for when I (frequently) knock it off its perch. Same noise level as any other fan I’ve had in the price range, i.e. I need to turn the telly up but it’s liveable and you don’t hear it after a while. It’s also nice and light for carrying around the house. A couple of points for consideration; the control dial is small, a bit stiff as it ‘clicks’ round and fiddly. It’s placed slightly under the carry handle and is black on black, so for those with arthritis, poor eye sight and such, it may be more tricky to use. The fan turns on full blast with one twist, with two more twists required to set it to low. The wrong way around in my view, but not a deal breaker. I also would have liked a longer cord for more flexibility. I think it’s a standard length. Still rated it 5 stars despite these points as its ace and does a great job.

  8. Jack Bauer’s Little Sister

I bought two of these Honeywell fans to try to keep the house cool.
The fan is very quiet in operation and seems to have have a well balanced blade/motor mechansim resulting in not too much vibration to annoy the neighbours, or reverberate throughout the entire house.
Currently working from home with the radio in the background, the fan noise is negligable.
The air column is focused in front of the fan, and can be felt at an indoor distance of 5metres, and will disturb smoke at a distance of 8m (not scientific, but from with the fan at one end of my lounge through a door to the far side of the dining room where I was holding an incense stick).
The quiet operation would also suit a desktop location.
This fan is ideal for moving air to take advantage of lower temperatures from naturally cooler areas or rooms, normalising air temperature throughout the house, and creatingl a flow of fresh air without giving the effect of a wind tunnel.
The fan starts to draw smoke from an incense stick 1metre behind, but the majority of air intake is radially from around the unit and not from directly behind, and so needs to be located close to, or within the cooler area to blow air to where the cooling is needed.Taking into account the initial cost, running costs, and associated environmental impact, 2 or 3 of theses fans, well placed to utilise natural or existing “coldspots”, are a much more effective method of home cooling than “mobile” or “portable” air conditioning units (which in my experience are noisy, expensive to run, vibrate like a pnuematic drill, and only really have any cooling effect when they’re on and running up a big electric bill.
Rated at 30watts, these fans could easily be powered by a small (100-200watt) solar panel, for a cooling solution which won’t add to the problem of global warming.
My home has a natural walking flow through it, and these fans are great at creating and assisting an airflow along the flowpaths.Cool and quiet if you just need a fan to sit in front of too.Low versatility rating because it does what it says on the tine, and does that well, you could use the fan to wedge open a door perhaps, but it won’t cook your dinner or paint your fences. This fan is not a jack-of-all-trades swiss-army tool, but is not meant to be.

I have had this fan for years now and it has never let me down, really powerful and sturdy! the noise is a little bit louder than most fans but it doesnt bother me that much if im honest! better than it being silent but hot!

  10. sbrsbr

According to the Met Office (UK) it’s 19 degrees here.I’m sitting 3 metres away from this fan.Cool air is wafting over me like a breeze on a beach on a summer’s day.And that’s just level 1 of 3. What’s 3 like? I don’t know. Tropical cyclone probably.Just buy it – it’s ace.(P.S. The cable in the photo is for something else. The fan’s power lead is black)
